About

In 1997 an organization called Parent Advocates for Special Services (PASS) for parents of adult children with developmental disabilities was formed. Two parents, Nancy Greenwald and Beverly Andreos, both with Special Needs sons, formed PASS. The support group's mission was to address the needs, desires and expectations of families in order to benefit the lives of their children.

The real value of these monthly meetings has been to create an opportunity for families to develop a support network of friends and exchange information that helps them in the daily lives of their children.

Many friendships have been formed over the years which is what has been the inspiration and motivation for families to still meet.

Recognizing the value and impact this monthly meeting has had on the Poway Special Needs community of families over many years, now that the adult community has grown and they have many friends in the Poway area, the issue is how to provide a social network so that their social and emotional needs are met.

This has been the motiviation to create the Unified Social Club that is planning to meet twice a month at the Mickey Cafagna Commmunity which will make Mickey very proud given his love of those in the Poway Commmunity.

Your donations will help with community center monthly rental fees, refreshments and gaming supplies and equipment.
